I am always fascinated by the morning routines hacks and how it has helped me to surcharge my day. For years, I have been reading on entrepreneurs life about their morning routine, here. There are a ton of research to support that having a good morning routine can lead to increased productivity and energy boosting. That’s because our willpower is highest in the morning. When we start each day strong, we are basically giving ourselves a head start. The rest of our day follow suit when we begin a day in a positive productive mindset. Moreover, establishing a good daily habits have both mental and physical benefits. According to a study by American Psychological Association, after creating and following a morning routine one can reduce stress, depression and anxiety levels and increase life satisfaction levels, motivations and inspirations. Physically, one will feel more energetic and strong!
Once we create these healthy habits in the morning, then they will have a ripple effect on the rest of our day and ultimately on the rest of our life. So throughout the years, I have built a healthy morning habit that I will share with you shortly. One thing I like to mention is that I am still working on waking up a little earlier each day to focus on my goals and conquer the day with more energy, mindfulness and strength. Remember that there is not one fits all morning routine for everyone. You need to test and analyze for yourself. However, it’s recommended to have an element of focus on big picture goals, gratitude, and planning for the day’s time.
10 Hacks to Surcharge your Day with Morning Routines:
- Rise between 6 to 7am each morning.
- Not looking at my phone until I am finished with my morning routine.
- Cuddle with my hubby
- Fill up my gratitude journal (5-minute journal)
- Meditate for 20 minutes (HeadSpace)
- 20 to 45 minute HIIT/Yoga/Stretch workout (7-minute).
- Drink lots of water
- Eat a healthy breakfast (Oatmeals, Eggs, Avocados, and some Honey)
- Listen to a Podcast of my choice (inspirational, informative, marketing, etc)
Here are the things I like to add to my routine:
- Review my goals.
- Write on my journal.
If I had to skip some of my routines, I will definitely keep drinking water and meditation on my list. Mindfulness and meditation practices are the first step to feeling safe and relax. I just sit with a good posture and breath. The juicy part is to observe/notice what happens, with no judging, no story or even clearing your mind; just be there.I believe, cultivating the relationship with oneself is the ‘real work’, sitting by oneself and noticing is the ‘real work’. We need to strengthen our noticing muscle by going to the mindfulness gym. So meditation will never go off my list.
