The holiday season is here once again! OH YA!!! oh NAHHH .. where did 2019 go?! OPPPSS!
Time flies yes! However, its time for being with family, friends and FOOD! I am so excited for all the eatings I will have at my parents place because I will be in Toronto Canada to enjoy some relaxing times.
From the business side, I am a bit scared on how to do it all the business side while being present with my family? Here is what I have learnt from my mentor on balancing and managing the holiday season time to my advantage.
Here are three focus points to help ensure that you’re doing what’s best for you during this busy time of year.
We need to know if we have the capacity to spend time with my family during the holidays and run my business? If yes then go ahead you are in good hands do both! if NO then here your options: You need to make conscious decisions on what to skip and splurge during the holiday season. Be truth to your self, dont beat yourself up of what you should or shouldn’t do! Decide if you want to spend the time with your family and friends? or continue working the same amount and forego any changes to your personal life and be content about it.
If you think you have to run your business in the same capacity before the holiday season then you can PLAN your content. It requires more leg work upfront to ensure you have time off with your family! You can plan your videos to go live just before Christmas while you dont life a finger during holidays if you dont want to. Your email list subscribers can receive holiday notes while you are by the chimney reading books and drinking wine. Your Instagram feed can have new posts while you are laying on bed dreaming about your 2020 goals. It’s possible for you to show up in your business without having to show up in that moment.
This last point is where it all make a difference. It doesn’t matter how you are spending your time and energy this season, just remind yourself this:
I’m doing the best I can for my business and still making time for my family. Let yourself enjoy the time off if you decide to do that because why not? when is the best time to indulge in a break? Enjoy it as much as you can because we need it for the new year. Take your life in your hand and say you love it. With a little preparation, you’ll be able to say goodbye to the holiday scares and embrace the goodness of the season. Enjoy! the capacity, consistency, and contentment this holiday season!
