Brand photos are sets of imageries that explains your personality and tell the story of your day-to-day life as an entrepreneur along side of your product or services you offer. Personal brand photos can also include what you love doing in your spare time or what inspires you. Below, I will share 5 ways to share your personality in branding photos.
Define your brand personality!
You need to set time to define your brand and have clarity on:
- who you are
- what you do
- who you do it for
- why you do it
- your unique value proposition
When you know all the above, you could answer some questions similar to: Are you easygoing and laid back? Are you outgoing? Organized, adventurous, introvert, etc? As soon as you know your business personality traits and what your ideal client will relate to then you are off to a good start, my friend.
Show behind the scenes
What everyone really engage on these days are the behind the scene footage or photos of the business. How ‘the work’ is being done? In this way, you are sharing with your audience what does a day-to-day task look for you. One tip for you here is this: The glory of behind the scenes work is that the rough quality gives everything a character and makes it feel more real. The trick here is to know what type of “rough” look is ok.
Use props
Props are the most important as it brings context to the image. Props can highlight the key features of the business, provide visual messages about the service/product your business is trying to sell. Above all, props are one of the best ways to show off your personality. They can be the tools of your trade (laptop, phone, stationeries) or the fun personal items that you use in your life.
Choose a location that represents you
A great tip here is instead of traveling 3-4 locations try to stick to ONE sweet spot that represents you, a beautiful house on the water, or wherever you get your best work done. I believe staying in one location allows the time to be used for taking more shots and details rather than spending that time on traveling to different locations. Some other examples of the locations are in an office, on the couch, in a coffee shop, shopping stores or maybe by the water, etc.
Show your hobbies
Personal branding photography is all about showing who you are as a brand and what makes your business UNIQUE, therefore sharing your hobbies can really draw your audience. What do you do for fun? what books inspires you? do you have a pet or not? There are a million things you can incorporate in your imagery when it comes to showing your hobbies.
