Ready to hear some prop ideas for your branding photography? No one can deny the power of branding, but sometimes it can be a little difficult to know how to properly brand yourself and tell your story with photography. Luckily something as simple as using the right props can take your photos to the next level. Most importantly help to convey a story to your followers. To help you out, we have compiled a list of 5 great tips and ideas for your next personal branding photography session!
Food and Drink
Hear me out on this one. While the whole coffee shot may be overused, there is still a lot of merit in food and drink photos in your personal brand. Everyone can relate to food, as there’s nobody in the world that can live without it. Sharing photos of everyday items that you eat or drink can help you build a strong relationship with your followers and build connections. You don’t have to even take the normal, boring food photos either. You can add in other objects or actions and make the photo more about your lifestyle and have the food and drink add to the whole picture.
This is probably going to be the broadest category of items that a photographer may have. Everyday tools means the items that you use on a day to day basis. As a photographer, you will be using plenty of photography equipment. However, the list could also include things such as a laptop, phone, tablet, headphones, books, pens, or even a TV remote. The more creative you get with the objects that you use on a daily basis, the more your audience will feel a connection to you and your brand.
What is your morning ritual? Whether that is making a cup of coffee in the morning, doing your makeup, or making the bed, these simple tasks can give you plenty of ideas of things to incorporate into some of your photos. The more you share about yourself and your personality, the better your branding.
Do you have a porch swing or a comfy seat on the patio? Getting outside can do wonders for not only your photos but for making a connection with your audience as well. Stop to smell the flowers, staring up at the trees, and look out for other naturally occurring props that you can use in your photoshoot.
While this isn’t necessarily an idea for a prop, the idea is the most important aspect when it comes to personal branding. Use props and items in your photos that show your own personality and style. Be as creative as possible, and try to think outside of the box. Telling your brand story and who you are in the key. So why wouldn’t you try to be as unique as possible? By being creative and using your favorite items in creative ways, you will quickly personalize your brand and let the world know who you are!
